The Belief!

So, what is Triranga Darshan? Visiting all three temples and praying for welfare on the same day before sunrise and sunset, starting from Aadhi Ranga at (Srirangapatna), then Madhya Ranga at Shivanasamudra, and finallyAnthya Ranga at Srirangam is known as “Triranga Darshan” or “Triranga Darshanam” or “3 Ranga Darshan” and it is believe this would remove all the malefic effects on your planets!

It is considered a relief to people from various malefic effects of planets. It is believed, that if we are able to complete the darshan of all three Ranga kshetra’s on the belt of Cauvery, located in South India in a single day, we will have the blessings of a “Brahmānda Darshana“ or “Triranga Darshanam” or “3 Ranga Darshan”.

These three temples are considered to be very sacred and visiting these temples is believed to provide blessings and spiritual upliftment to the devotees. The temples are considered to be one of the most sacred Vaishnavite shrines in South India.

Preparation before starting!

It is believed having Triranga darshan in one day between sunrise and sunset of Sri Ranganatha Swamy in Dhanurmasa is the most precious that is in the month of December and January. Due to the scarcity of time, you need to pre-plan the journey in advance. It would be better to reach Srirangapatna your first temple – Aadhi Ranga before 5.00 AM. It is also better to pack enough snacks, breakfast and water, because there won’t be time to stop between the temples anywhere!

Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple stands beautifully in Srirangapatna (Mandya District), a culturally rich town near Mysuru city and located on the banks of river Cauvery. The main deity is Lord Ranganatha who is a manifestation of Lord Vishnu, the idol of the lord is in resting posture on a bed of serpent Aadi Sesha and it is one of the biggest idols of Lord Vishnu in reclining posture (4.5 meters long) in India. Goddess Lakshmi can also be seen sitting by the side of the Lord’s feet. This is the first temple of Triranga Darshanam.

Madhya Ranga – Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple

Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, this Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple is built in the Dravidian style of architecture and stands on an island on the banks of the river Cauvery. The main deity here is believed to represent the youth form of the GOD and hence is also fondly referred to as “Mohana Ranga” and “Jaganmohana Ranga”.
